Aug 13,  · Death in the Covenant is a “cozy mystery,” which means that there’s also, quite enjoyably, a little romance and lot of delicious-sounding food in the book. Abbie has herself a little love connection brewing with a stalwart, attractive man who also happens to be a great cook (score!), and she has the much-needed love and support of some.

The book of the covenant and the people of the covenant (), as well as the sanctuary and its utensils (), were sprinkled with it; purification was attained with blood (). Hebrews declares the old covenant faulty or blameworthy (), not because there was anything wrong with it, but because the people were sinful (, 9).

In covenant you no longer live for yourself. There is a Covenant Partner to consider, and you must be true to that Covenant Partner. Covenant is a bond that commits you to another. In order for us to have this new life a death had to take place this is a picture of our so great a salvation as viewed through the lens of covenant.

When we humans try to define "death" we are seeing it as what happens to us at the end of our physical life. We simply believe that we are alive now and will experience death at the end of that physical life. But the Bible tells us that those who are not "in Christ", or in covenant with God through Jesus, are not alive now. They are dead to God.
